Second Annual Fitness in the Park

The Rotary Club of Lantzville will be hosting their second Fitness in the Park August 21, 2021 at the Nanaimo Hornets Rugby Club Field. Fitness in the Park was developed as a way for the club to continue to raise funds that could be put back into the community while meeting COVID-19 protocols. Tents are put up to create shade, the field is marked with flags to help people keep physically distanced while exercising, music is playing to get your energy pumping and the instructors have a mic so everyone can hear clearly.
On the schedule for 2021 is:
8 am Zumba – Shandra Mayes
9 am Core Circuits – Ave Koch – Return to Form
10 am Pilates -TBA
11 am Yoga – Samantha Lynn Waagenaar
12 pm Zumba – Maria Elena
Shandra Mayes is currently the Assistant Fitness Manager at Fitness World Nanaimo and also a Kinesiology/Anthropology student at VIU. In between juggling all of that, plus her family, she loves to share her passion for Zumba® and movement with everyone she can! This class will be packed with smiles, silliness, and a little sass. It will be such a fun way to kick off your Saturday! Join us!
Ave Koch is a personal trainer and Core Align instructor. She completed her Can Fit Pro Personal Training Certificate in 2010 and since then has enjoyed helping people get stronger. Ave has a passion for health and fitness and wants to help others meet their health and fitness goals. She lives on a farm in central Nanaimo with her husband and cat Gilly. She enjoys gardening and running her farm produce stand outside of teaching classes. Core Circuits will target a combination of strength exercises, body weight exercises and cardio designed to get your heart pumping!
